So. Tired. (and other Abby fun)

It has been a hard few months with Abby.  She's tired enough to take naps, but doesn't want to and if she does, she's up late.  So, it's just hard.  One day after several minutes of crying, I went to check on her and found her fast asleep on the bathroom floor.  Poor girl!

Another day she fell asleep in the car on the way to the grocery store and when we went inside she climbed in the cart and went back to sleep.  I had groceries piled all around her.  It was kind of funny.

But even being tired, she is so happy and loves to play with Tulo.  She also loves to climb in his kennel!

Ski breaks

 We did other things besides ski this winter.  Jerry and I have wanted to hike up to Lake Blanche for a while so we had a spare Saturday and did it.  We brought our snow shoes, but the trail was packed enough that we didn't need them.  It was so beautiful and nice to be out in the wilderness.  We can't wait to go back in the summer!

Skiing or selfieing...you decide

We kept having more fun skiing.  And we kept having fun taking selfies apparently.  Looking back through all these photos I realized that we took a few selfies.  Ha Ha.  I wanted to make sure the kids remembered smiling and having fun, not just being cold and tired!

We ran into the Rasmussens up there one day.  That was so fun for the kids to get to ski with friends!  We had a great time!

Here is some video to prove that we did spend time skiing, too.  These were taken later in the season.  You can tell how much Abby especially improved.  By the end of the season, we could take her on all the same lifts as the big kids.  She got tired much more quickly skiing off the bigger lifts, though, so we usually stuck to the beginner ones with her.  It was such a fun winter together.  We made some great memories, spent great time outside and loved being together!  We can't wait for next season!

Spelling Bee

Sara is a naturally good speller.  Last year her class had a test to see who would get to be in the spelling bee and she wasn't one of the winners and she was very disappointed.  So in second grade, as soon as she got the spelling lists, she started studying.  She studied the words for months.  Her teacher ended up just picking students to be in the spelling bee and Sara was one of the two.  She was very excited and a little bit nervous too.

 The lower grades were able to write the words on a white board before they spelled them.  She had to spell words like: junior, kangaroo, polar, surefire, grumbling, rattler, glance and her championship word was...drench.

 Each round there were fewer and fewer!

 AND SHE WON!!!!!  We were so excited and proud of her.  She worked so hard for this!!

 The trophy stays at the school and they will carve her name on it. But it's still an awesome trophy!

 Her teacher, Miss Oakley, was very proud of her too!

To celebrate we went to coldstone and she got to choose whatever she wanted!  It was a great day for Sara!!

A Day on the Sled

We decide to take a day off of skiing and head up to our favorite sledding spot instead.  We were so glad that Scott and Aubrey came along!

Just because Abby's cute

Abby is my little buddy and snugglebug.  She tells me all the time how much she loves snuggling with me.  I love it too!  She has been going through a hard phase where she gets tired during the day, but if she has a nap, she's up really late at night.  I have to remind myself that she's still only three and is still a really little kid.  I forgot that three year olds can be hard!  She is a very sweet girl, though.
